Growing up in Salem Oregon I always had a camera in my hand. Whether that was on family fishing trips, in school, or just around the house I always had a camera attached to me. The price of film was expensive but the wait and anticipation were worth waiting for. I remember going to Fred Meyer‘s to pick up my developed film the excitement of getting to see what I captured was always a thrill. It always kept me buying more 35 mm film.

I have totes upon totes in the attic of pictures I have taken over the years whether it be of people, landscaping, buildings, or animals growing up or just selfies. Then I had to make sure the picture was going to be worth it because I couldn’t just delete the picture and take another one. I actually had to pay for it, so I had to make sure the picture was worth the wait. Over the years of transitioning into digital, it has been so worth it being able to see it right away deleting it if I don’t like it. Or even taking 10 pictures of the same exact thing, and being nitpicky of what I actually like. It’s nice and doesn’t cost me nearly as much.

I decided to put, my talents into a business that I am proud of. I am super dyslexic and want nothing to do with reading or writing. This blog is not something I want to do but it’s for the website itself. I share with you that I am dyslexic so maybe it would be able to help someone else that has walked in those shoes to see if they can also follow their dreams no matter the stumbling blocks that come in your way. With that said I am a hands-on visual learner. Hence the camera! I am obsessed with everything the camera has to offer. Behind it I feel comfortable, in front of the camera I can be very goofy. But I think that is my personality whether there is a camera in my hands or not. I love looking at the world through the lens of a camera but also capturing pictures for other people just makes my heart pitter patter. The thrill of seeing others excited to see what they look like through the lens and to hear their excitement makes it all worth it for me. To be able to take my passion and use it daily for so many others really is living the dream.

We have had a few pit stops along our journey. My husband and I grew up in Oregon and absolutely loved it. After getting married, we moved to Northern California for two years, and Southern California for eight years. Then, moved back home to Oregon to be with family for only 14 months. We have been in Idaho for six years now, and besides missing the ocean, Idaho checks all of the boxes of Oregon. We are happy to call Idaho our home.

Over the years I have done senior pictures, weddings, newborns, family pictures, and headshots. This year, 2024 I am focusing on just headshots. This will allow me to focus on one thing and make it personal. I would love to travel to your own office and do Headshots and branding for your company.

I opened a new studio that is off of Warm Springs Ave. downtown. I am excited to get the word out and to get to capture the same thing I have done for many others over the years. Good BOI Studio is officially open. Come see me for professional headshots–or my studio space is available to rent out for photography or podcasting. Check out the website for yourself.
